Job summary

BayCare Health System's Pediatric Cardiac ICU is seeking a Registered Nurse to independently care for a group of pediatric cardiac ICU patients using the nursing process and clinical standards.

Responsibilities include monitoring vitals, recognizing changes in condition, responding to emergencies, and coordinating discharge planning to ensure continuity of care after discharge. A license and required certifications are essential. Shift hours are 6:45PM - 7:15AM at St Joseph's Main and Children's.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license is required.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.
• 1 year RN acute care experience within pediatric ICU, pediatric cardiac ICU, or 2 years adult cardiac ICU.
• Associates Degree in Nursing; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care.
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identify sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition.
• Respond to medical emergencies for critical patients.
• Coordinate and document discharge planning to ensure continuity of care after discharge.
• Demonstrate high emotional intelligence to communicate medical concepts clearly to patients.
