Job summary

Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina, is seeking a Clinical Nurse IV Leader to provide advanced nursing care and unit leadership within a Level I trauma center environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, staff mentoring, and promoting patient safety and care excellence. A BSN and NC RN licensure are required with BLS certification; two years of experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduation from accredited nursing program with BSN.
• Two years of nursing experience required.
• Eligible for CN IV Leader duties with CN II/III.
• Current NC RN licensure.
• Basic Life Support certification required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide advanced and specialized nursing care per unit guidelines.
• Provide local‑level leadership in administration, education, informatics, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Identify patient care needs across the continuum and lead standards of care development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and lead educational activities and research projects.
• Mentor staff, conduct precepting, and support professional growth.
