Job summary

CHKD Medical Group is hiring a Cardiac Sonographer at the Cardiac Diagnostic Unit in Norfolk, VA. The role performs transthoracic and stress echocardiography and assists with transesophageal echocardiography, along with noninvasive tests such as ECGs and holter monitoring.

The position requires RDCS or RCCS certification eligibility with registration within specified timelines, and a completed accredited Cardiac Ultrasound program.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Cardiac Ultrasound program (Bachelor's or Associate).

• CPR Training required or obtained within 45 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs echocardiograms per lab standards and daily volume goals.
• Assists with transesophageal echo and stress echo as needed.
• Performs ECGs and holter monitor application.
• Prepares preliminary interpretation reports and handles study transmittal.
• Oversees daily operation of echocardiography services and equipment.
• Participates in teaching students and new technicians.
• Participates in call coverage and quality assurance activities.
