Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond seeks a pediatric cardiac anesthesiologist, board-certified or equivalent, to lead the Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology team.

Based in Richmond, the role combines clinical care of congenital heart disease patients across OR, cath lab, EP lab and non-invasive labs with teaching, research and interdepartmental collaboration within VC3 with UVA.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree.
• ABA Board eligible/certified in Anesthesiology.
• Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia.
• Eligible for employment in the United States.
• Good communication, clinical and teaching skills.
• Formal training in Pediatric Cardiac anesthesiology, or substantial experience.
• Ability to work collegially within a multidisciplinary system.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate anesthesia care for congenital heart disease patients across OR, cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology lab, and non-invasive labs.
• Lead day-to-day Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology operations and engage in Quality and Safety Initiatives.
• Participate in clinical practice, academic endeavors, and education for fellows, residents, and medical students.
