Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology, seeks a board-certified (or eligible) pediatric cardiac anesthesiologist to lead the Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology team at VCU. The role involves clinical practice, teaching residents and fellows, and collaboration with the Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery divisions.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree and board eligibility/certification in Anesthesiology.
• Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the United States.
• Strong communication, clinical and teaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology team in day-to-day operations.
• Coordinate anesthesia care for patients with congenital heart disease across OR, cath lab, EP lab and imaging suites.
• Engage in Quality and Safety Initiatives, community outreach, and interdepartmental proceedings.
