Job summary

Blackbird Health is seeking a Billing Specialist to join our growing Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team. You will manage insurance accounts receivable, resolve denials, post payments, verify eligibility, and collaborate with clinicians to ensure a smooth billing experience.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in healthcare billing, strong knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding, and experience with EHR/PM systems. A pediatric behavioral health setting background is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of healthcare billing experience with insurance companies and EHR/PM systems.
• 1–3 years of customer service experience.
• In-depth knowledge of medical billing procedures, CPT/ICD-10 coding, and insurance terminology.
• Experience in behavioral health or pediatric healthcare billing.

Responsibilities

• Resolve insurance claim denials and work with providers to ensure reimbursement.
• Investigate denials via portals and draft appeals when needed.
• Contact patients to update insurance or payment details and set up payment plans.
• Collaborate with clinicians and internal teams to resolve billing issues.
