Job summary

Kennedy Krieger Institute, Inc. is seeking a Behavioral Rehabilitation Assistant I to provide direct patient care on the inpatient unit and support one-to-one supervision of patients following established treatment protocols.

The role includes remote monitoring (tele-sitting) for 1–3 patients, assisting with daily therapeutic activities, and ensuring patient safety through adherence to behavioral protocols and data collection.

Qualifications

• Must maintain up-to-date training in Assaultive Behavioral Management and safe transport techniques.
• Certification and competency trainings as required by department.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as assigned and implement behavior plans.
• Conduct remote monitoring (tele-sitting) for 1–3 patients.
• Assist with daily therapeutic activities with attention to safety.
• Intervene using behavior training and safety protocols as needed.
• Assist with ambulation, feeding, positioning, and related protocols.
• Provide 1:1 interaction with patients upon request from the interdisciplinary team.
• Assist in assessing adaptive, leisure, and self-help skills.
• Support the implementation of skill training programs in daily activities.
• Record daily patient care activities and collect data on specified behaviors.
