Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Behavioral & Mental Health clinician to conduct comprehensive BMH assessments and suicide risk evaluations in the emergency department. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop safe disposition plans and ensure high-quality patient care.

The role requires a Master’s in Social Work or Counseling, GA licensure (LCSW or LPC), and Marcus Crisis Prevention Program training within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling.
• Marcus Crisis Prevention Program completion within 90 days of hire.
• Georgia LCSW or LPC licensure or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in comprehensive behavioral and mental health assessments and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to determine safe discharge disposition.
• Complete 1013 forms and coordinate with case management for placement.
• Deliver family education and support to achieve stabilization and safety.
• Maintain timely clinical and administrative documentation by end of shift.
• Respond to critical events to support emergency department operations.
