Job summary

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking a full-time Pediatric Behavioral Health Crisis Specialist to work in a hospital setting with children and youth. You will respond to crises, assess and manage behavioral health needs, and collaborate with families and staff for safe, effective care.

The role emphasizes crisis intervention, education, and nursing process implementation, while supporting professional growth within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of pediatric clinical experience, preferably in an emergency or acute care setting.
• Minimum of two years of psychiatric or behavioral health experience in a medical setting.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including assessment, management, and treatment planning for patients with behavioral and mental health needs by responding to behavioral crisis events.
• Lead crisis response debreifs following behavioral emergencies.
• Provide proactive rounding on behavioral health patients and education to care teams.
