Job summary

Coastal Kids in Ventura, CA is seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Consultant to join our collaborative care team. The role coordinates mental and behavioral health care with the patient's medical provider and psychiatric consultant, supporting a caseload of patients.

The ideal candidate holds an MSW and CA licensure (LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC) with 2+ years of pediatric behavioral health experience, strong care coordination, and patient education skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program.
• Licensed Clin ical Social Worker in California (LCSW), LMFT, or LPCC.
• 2+ years of experience as a social worker in a behavioral health setting with children, youth, and families.

Responsibilities

• Support the mental and behavioral health care of patients on an assigned caseload.
• Coordinate care with the patient's medical provider and other mental health providers.
• Screen and assess patients for common mental health and substance use disorders.
• Facilitate patient engagement and follow-up care.
• Provide patient education about mental health disorders and treatment options.
• Track treatment response and monitor patients for changes in symptoms and side effects.
• Support psychotropic medication management as prescribed by medical providers.
• Participate in weekly caseload consultations with the psychiatric consultant.
• Consultations will focus on new or non-improving patients and may be conducted remotely or in person.
• Provide brief behavioral interventions using evidence-based techniques.
