Job summary

AdventHealth in Shawnee, KS is seeking an enthusiastic therapy assistant to provide direct therapy for children, supporting cognitive, language, self-help, social, and motor development under BCBA supervision.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, maintain data, and ensure HIPAA-compliant documentation while training staff and families to continue progress in a compassionate, faith-based healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Entry level competency of behavior analytic practice with young children.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct therapy to assist children in developing cognitive, language, self-help, social, and motor skills.
• Collaborates with physical, occupational, speech-language, and music therapists, and educators to support progress.
• Maintains a clean and hygienic classroom environment and manages data related to individual programs.
• Implements treatment plans to support children's developmental goals.
• Trains and educates students, interns, volunteers, and family members.
• Communicates honestly and respects each discipline’s expertise; follows HIPAA guidelines.
• Completes charges and documentation in a timely fashion; stays current with procedures.
• Learns and applies new processes by attending in-services and continuing education.
