Job summary

Pop-Up Talent invites applications for an audiology position in the Philadelphia area, focusing on pediatric evaluations and education for patients and families across outpatient settings. The role emphasizes independent assessment, patient communication, and collaboration with physicians

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of licensed experience required.
  • Pediatric experience preferred but not required.
  • Pediatric medical-based setting preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess hearing and/or vestibular function using diagnostic tests per guidelines.
  • Interpret tests and promptly communicate findings verbally and in writing.
  • Assist physicians in diagnosing and treating peripheral and central auditory disorders.
  • Counsel patients and families on hearing loss and options for (re)habilitation, including hearing technology and education services.
  • Facilitate transfer of care to a managing Audiologist when appropriate.
  • Communicate care plan and schedule follow-ups with patients and staff.
  • Maintain productivity and fiscal responsibility in service provision.
  • Maintain competencies with supervisor support, and engage in education and research.
  • Apply research to clinical practice.

  • Responsibilities Include Audiological Assessment For Children And Providing Education/instruction To Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Providers As Appropriate, in the Outpatient Setting
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Functions
  • Patient Care – Evaluation: Independently assesses hearing and/or vestibular function through the use of diagnostic tests and other appropriate procedures, In Compliance with guidelines set by the department and regulating agencies
  • Documentation and Communication: Independently interprets test findings with prompt dissemination of results using professional oral and written communication
  • Aids physicians and other providers in the diagnosis and treatment of peripheral and central auditory disorders
  • Counsels patients and families, as well as other professionals, regarding hearing loss and options for (re)habilitation including, but not limited to hearing technology, communication options and educational services through the use of outcomes measures and referrals to appropriate service providers
  • Transfer of Care: Facilitates transfer of care to a managing Audiologist as appropriate
  • Communicates Plan to Patients and Families – Ensures appropriate scheduling of follow-up visit and communicates with other staff as needed
  • Administration: Maintains productivity and fiscal responsibility in the utilization/provision of services.
  • Education/Training and Research: Maintains competencies and knowledge of department policies and procedures, with the support of a Clinical Supervisor
  • Applies research to practice

Mandatory Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of licensed experience required

Mandatory Education
  • Master's degree in audiology required

Mandatory Licensure & Certifications
  • Audiology license (Pennsylvania) via Pennsylvania state licensing board upon hire required
Mandatory Licensure & Certifications
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) via American Speech-Language-Hearing Association upon hire required
  • Board Certification in Audiology via The American Board of Audiology upon hire required

  • Full-time Ideal Need
  • 8:00-4:30 pm M-F Onsite
  • Floats between Locations – Not same day, primarily Buerger (at least 3 days) & KOP (as needed, likely 2 days)
