Job summary

Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to deliver comprehensive care within the Palliative Care team. The role includes diagnostic and therapeutic management, leadership within the division, and participation in teaching and scholarship as part of a nationally recognized pediatric academic medical center.

The position emphasizes collaboration with nurses, physicians, and multidisciplinary staff to optimize patient outcomes and advance care delivery

Qualifications

• Licensed as an advanced practice registered nurse or physician assistant in state of clinical practice.
• National board certification required.
• CDS and DEA licensure in state(s) of clinical practice required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, monitor and promote the clinical status of patients using evidence-based practice.
• Develops and implements appropriate plans of care; writes orders and prescribes therapy as needed.
• Leads multidisciplinary patient care and planning conferences; acts as clinical resource for staff and families.
• Engages in teaching and mentorship for APRN/PA students and staff.
• Participates in department and organization-wide quality improvement and scholarly activities.
