Job summary

Shriners Children's Ohio is seeking 3 full-time fellowship-trained Pediatric Anesthesiologists to join our perioperative team, with about 20-40% of time at Dayton Children's on the campus. The position is based in Ohio and includes an all-MD model without CRNA supervision.

We provide expert pediatric care including regional anesthesia and ultrasound-guided blocks, with a rotating 1-in-4 home call schedule and opportunities for teaching and quality improvement.

Qualifications

• MD/DO from an accredited medical school
• ACGME residency in Anesthesiology
• Fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology
• ABA board certification or eligibility
• Active medical license eligibility in the state
• DEA eligibility
• BLS for HCP and PALS certification
• Credentialing and privileging per hospital bylaws
• Strong understanding of pediatric physiology/pharmacology
• Ability to work in high-acuity environments with a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

• Pre-anesthesia evaluations and individualized plans for pediatric patients
• Administer general, regional, or monitored anesthesia care
• Monitor vitals and anesthetic depth throughout perioperative phases
• Manage pediatric airways and ventilation strategies
• Respond to intraoperative complications and emergencies
• Collaborate with surgeons and nurses to coordinate care
• Provide postoperative pain management and regional anesthesia
• Document assessments and interventions in the EHR
• Participate in quality improvement and protocol development
• May contribute to training of residents and fellows
• Maintain productivity benchmarks and institutional standards
