Job summary

Shriners Children’s Ohio is seeking three full-time Pediatric Anesthesiologists to join our perioperative team. The role combines clinical anesthesia in the OR with 20–40% time at Dayton Children’s, in a MD-model practice without CRNA supervision.

Responsibilities include preoperative evaluation, regional and general anesthesia, and postoperative pain management for diverse pediatric cases, with general duties in a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Anesthesiology.
• Completion of fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology.
• 1-3 years post-fellowship experience preferred; recent graduates considered.
• Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology with pediatric subspecialty.
• Eligibility for state medical licensure and active DEA.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers and PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations and develop pediatric anesthetic plans.
• Administer general, regional, or monitored anesthesia care to children.
• Monitor vitals and anesthesia depth throughout perioperative care.
• Manage pediatric airways and ventilation.
• Respond to intraoperative complications and emergencies.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and staff to coordinate care.
• Provide postoperative pain management and recovery monitoring.
• Document assessments and interventions in the EHR per policies.
• Participate in quality improvement and protocol development.
• May contribute to training residents or fellows.
• Maintain productivity benchmarks and departmental standards.
