The role involves a mix of adult and pediatric cases within a community-based health system that handles thousands of surgeries annually across two hospitals. The position offers a competitive compensation package, including a $500,000 base salary, a $100,000 sign-on incentive, and a robust benefits program.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an accredited College of Medicine.
• Fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology required.
• ECFMG and FLEX credentials required.
• Completion of an approved residency in anesthesia; currently licensed.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive anesthesia care across adult and pediatric surgical cases.
• Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations and obtain informed consent.
• Develop and discuss anesthetic plans with patients.
• Manage induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia.
• Monitor patient physiology and perform necessary interventions.
• Support departmental coordination and clinical leadership.

At Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital, more than 27,000 outpatient and inpatient surgeries are performed each year. The hospital has served the people of central Virginia since 1966, with a focus on delivering compassionate healthcare of the highest quality. In 2008, St. Mary’s was the first community hospital in Richmond to earn the Magnet Recognition for nursing excellence from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Our practice provides anesthesia services for over 44,000 cases a year and consists of 25 physicians and over 70 CRNAs covering two hospitals in the Richmond area, both with high levels of acuity. Our care team model means we focus on ensuring everyone has a voice while supporting, respecting, and helping deliver excellence in care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive anesthesia care across surgical procedures
• Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations and obtain informed consent
• Develop and discuss anesthetic plans with patients
• Manage induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
• Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition and performing interventions as needed
• Support departmental coordination and clinical leadership

Requirements
