Job summary

The Department of Anesthesiology in San Antonio, TX seeks a full-time Pediatric Anesthesiologist to join the pediatric anesthesia team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality anesthesia and perioperative care for infants, children, and adolescents undergoing a broad range of procedures.

Responsibilities include pre-anesthetic evaluations, individualized anesthesia plans, and administering general, regional, neuraxial, and IV techniques.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an accredited anesthesiology residency.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited pediatric anesthesiology fellowship, or board certification in anesthesiology with at least five years of full-time pediatric anesthesiology experience.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an unrestricted Texas medical license.

Responsibilities

• Provide pediatric anesthesia and perioperative care for infants, children, and adolescents.
• Conduct pre-anesthetic evaluations and tailor anesthetic plans.
• Administer general, regional, neuraxial, and IV anesthesia techniques.
• Coordinate perioperative planning with surgeons and care teams.
• Participate in call coverage including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
• Teach and supervise residents, fellows, and medical students.
