Job summary

Baylor College of Medicine’s Department of Anesthesiology seeks a full-time Pediatric Anesthesiologist to join Christus Children's in San Antonio, TX. You will provide high-quality anesthesia and perioperative care for infants to adolescents and hold a BCM faculty appointment.

Eligible candidates have an MD/DO, completed pediatric anesthesiology training or board-certified with at least five years of experience, and Texas license eligibility.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree required.
• Completion of pediatric anesthesiology fellowship or board certification in anesthesiology with at least five years of full-time pediatric anesthesiology experience.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an unrestricted Texas medical license.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive anesthesia and perioperative care for pediatric patients.
• Perform pre-anesthetic evaluations and develop individualized plans.
• Administer general, regional, neuraxial, and IV anesthesia as appropriate.
• Care for medically complex pediatric patients across specialties.
• Coordinate perioperative planning with care teams.
• Manage pediatric airways, monitoring, and postoperative care.
• Oversee perioperative course including induction and emergence.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and compliance.
• Participate in call coverage including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
