Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL seeks a licensed Pharmacist to educate patients and healthcare teams on safe medication use and to provide timely, cost-effective therapy across central, satellite, and IV areas.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with Doctorate preferred, BLS, and a PGY1 residency or equivalent experience. Expect clinical rounds, staff mentoring, quality improvement, and compliance duties within a faith-based healthcare system.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Pharmacist (RPH) required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Doctorate preferred.
  • PGY1 residency with ambulatory/specialty experience or 3 years’ work experience preferred.
  • PGY2 in Ambulatory Care preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Educate and counsel patients, families, and healthcare team on safe medication use.
  • Provide safe, timely, cost-effective therapy and participate in stewardship and surveillance.
  • Engage in direct patient care and interdisciplinary rounds; ensure smooth transitions of care.
  • Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians, interns, students, and residents.
  • Identify, report and help resolve medication safety events and errors.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with EHRs, pharmacy informatics systems, and automation.
  • Contribute to practice advancement through research, committees, and scholarly activity.
  • Perform all pharmacist functions across central, satellite, and IV areas.
  • Review orders and monitor patient profiles to prevent drug-related problems.
  • Participate in quality improvement and regulatory compliance activities.
