Job summary

Southernmed seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to deliver outpatient pediatric care in collaboration with physicians. You will assess, diagnose, and manage patient plans, while leading and teaching staff to ensure high-quality care.

The role emphasizes compliance, education, and patient-family engagement. You will work within a supportive team, maintain licensure, and contribute to continuous improvement in pediatric health services.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of pediatric health and related diagnostic and treatment modalities.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to analyze, plan, and coordinate medical care while making appropriate medical decisions.
• Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member with physicians and other staff.
• Demonstrates active listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs medical services within the scope of education, training, and experience.
• Conducting patient visits per accepted practice standards.
• Obtaining patient histories and performing physical examinations.
• Ordering and evaluating laboratory and diagnostic studies.
• Developing and implementing a treatment plan in accordance with guidelines.
• Monitoring the effectiveness of therapeutic intervention and follow-up care.
• Works independently and with physicians; seeks input as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
• Documents in the medical record all care or contact with the patient.
• Communicates with patients by telephone regarding questions, refills, scheduling, and test results.
• Teaches and promotes health practices to patients and families.
• Acts as a role model and precepts staff as needed.
• Participates in education of patients and families and other professionals.
• Performs duties in compliance with the clinic's Compliance Plan and regulatory agencies.
• Demonstrates E&M coding knowledge and awareness of managed care requirements.
• Assumes responsibility for time management, relationships, and interactions.
• Maintains knowledge and licensure through continuing education.
