Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years of performing pediatric, adolescent and adult congenital cardiac echocardiography.
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS).
• BLS Certified.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic echocardiograms for all age groups.
• Operate equipment using standard protocols for echocardiography.
• Calculate measurements and enter data into electronic systems.
• Participate in off-site activities and travel twice per month.

Skills

Advanced knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology and disease

Ability to operate ultrasound equipment

Perform examinations recognizing structures and differentiating artifacts

Perform echo sonography studies including stress echocardiography

Flexibility performing tests in various environments

Educate patients and families about testing

Make knowledgeable clinical assessments and judgments

Apply clinical research findings to intervention techniques

Education

Completion of CHAAHEP approved ultrasound program

Associate Degree in Biological Sciences or relevant field
