Job summary

College Medical Center Phoenix is seeking a Full-Time Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Day Shift in our behavioral health unit. You will provide safe, therapeutic care to pediatric patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, following established policies and procedures.

The role includes addressing physical, emotional, and behavioral health needs, maintaining a supportive environment, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Current LPN licensure.
• New Grads are welcome to apply.
• A Level One Fingerprint Card is required.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers card.
• Minimum 6 months of psychiatric experience preferred.
• CPI Certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of pediatric growth and development and age-appropriate patient care.
• Experience in an acute psychiatric inpatient setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe, record, and report changes in patients’ physical, emotional, and behavioral conditions
• Provide safe and age-appropriate nursing care to pediatric patients under the supervision of an RN
• Monitor safety within the therapeutic environment and assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed
• Assist with admissions, patient data collection, and orientation to the unit and program
• Document patient interactions, observations, and responses to therapeutic interventions
• Communicate appropriately with patients, parents, guardians, and caregivers regarding care
• Collaborate with RNs and the interdisciplinary treatment team to implement individualized care plans
• Help maintain a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for pediatric patients

Compensation

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for CHLB/Glendora Hospital roles, including but not limited to shift differential and other special pay practices, etc. The posted compensation for the position is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay that CHLB/Glendora Hospital in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
