Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist at a hospital setting. The position supports routine assessments and therapeutic interventions for a diverse patient population, following CFY progression and with potential student supervision under supervision.

Applicants should have a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA‑accredited program and licensure or eligibility for licensure in Virginia, plus CCC‑SLP or CFY status.

Qualifications

• New graduates or CFY candidates welcome with less than 2 years of experience.
• Experience with evaluation and treatment of neurogenic, motor speech, linguistic/cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Experience with swallow studies including MBS and bedside assessments.
• Experience planning and executing treatment.

Responsibilities

• Schedule frequency and intensity of therapy; select assessment instruments and administer assessment.
• Interpret results; complete documentation; plan and carry out treatment strategies.
• Develop long- and short-term goals; educate patients/families/staff.
• Report at patient/family/team conferences; terminate therapy when appropriate.
• Supervisory duties: CFY/CCC holders may supervise students as deemed by management.
