Job description

Position: Speech-Language Pathologist 2 (SLP 2)

The SLP 2 consistently provides effective direct care as part of the interdisciplinary team to a variety of complex patients. In doing so, the SLP 2 acts as a role model and supervisor for junior staff, helps identify patients with unmet care needs, and seeks and provides feedback for clinical improvement. The SLP 2 also begins to assume a leadership role through mentoring.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Performs evaluations of speech, language, and swallowing functions according to professional standards and departmental guidelines.
  2. Demonstrates knowledge of intervention options and implements skilled speech-language pathology interventions.
  3. Participates actively in the professional growth of self and colleagues.
  4. Engages in quality improvement initiatives and program development.
  5. Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Details:

Compensation Range: $70,595.20 - $112,944.00 annually

Minimum Requirements:
  • Education: Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Experience: 6 months relevant experience
  • Licensure: Licensed to practice Speech-Language Pathology in Virginia; eligibility for CFY or certification with CCC required; American Heart Association BLS certification required.
Physical Demands:

Proficient in communication, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail; ability to lift/push/pull 20-50 lbs; may be exposed to chemicals, humidity, heat, blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, and dust.
