Job summary
Ascension in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a Registered Nurse for Pediatric Acute Care on the Night shift at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent. The role entails direct clinical care in 3rd and 4th/4th floor units, including high-acuity pediatric patients.
You will monitor vitals, administer complex therapies, coordinate family communication, and support rapid response and safety protocols with a collaborative team. A nursing diploma and Indiana RN licensure are required.
Qualifications
- Licensed RN in Indiana prior to hire.
- BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
- Experience with pediatric patients preferred.
Responsibilities
- Monitor vital signs and assess pediatric patients across units.
- Administer medications, chemotherapy, biotherapy, central line care and phlebotomy.
- Explain care plans to families and advocate for patient-centered care.
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams to support safety protocols.
- Manage shift assignments, admissions, discharges and patient workflow.
- Orient and precept new nursing staff and associates.
