Job summary

Children’s National Hospital is seeking an Activity Coordinator (PRN) to provide therapeutic and diversionary play for pediatric patients and siblings. The role focuses on promoting normalization of the hospital environment and family-centered care, with evening and weekend shifts.

Ideal candidates will hold an Associate's Degree in Child Development, have 1 year of related experience, and demonstrate strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills to support Child Life services.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Child development or related field is required.
• 1 year related experience working with children, or two years of college in child development or related field is required.
• Knowledge of child and adolescent growth and development; strong oral and written communication; ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Introduce patient programming and supportive services to patients, parents, and siblings.
• Plan, facilitate and supervise group and spontaneous play opportunities.
• Encourage socialization and peer interaction through monthly calendars of activities.
