Job summary

Iqra Quality Services is seeking an on-site Quality Assurance Inspector to review drawings, inspect all PEB materials, and verify conformance with project requirements. You will ensure proper bolt Tightening, material QC, and adherence to approved procedures.

Responsibilities include coordinating RFIs, inspecting welds, coatings, roofing, cladding, and final handover documentation with the client and erection team.

Responsibilities

  • Review approved General Arrangement drawings, erection drawings, project specifications, QAP, ITP and method statements before starting site activities.
  • Inspect all PEB materials received at the site, including columns, rafters, beams, bracings, purlins, girts, sag rods, flange stays, bolts, roofing sheets, wall cladding and other accessories.
  • Verify material identification, quantities, dimensions, physical condition, coating condition and material test certificates against approved drawings and project requirements.
  • Check the location, level, projection, spacing and alignment of anchor bolts before starting column erection.
  • Inspect column erection for line, level, orientation, verticality, base-plate seating, packing plates, shims and proper tightening of anchor-bolt nuts.
  • Inspect the erection of rafters, beams, purlins, girts, bracings, sag rods and other structural components as per approved erection drawings.
  • Check line, level, alignment, verticality, dimensional accuracy, frame spacing and structural camber wherever applicable.
  • Inspect bolted connections and verify bolt grade, diameter, length, washer placement, bolt direction, fit-up and tightening requirements.
  • Monitor high-strength bolt tightening and verify snug tightening, torque tightening or tensioning as per the approved procedure and project specifications.
  • Inspect roof sheeting, wall cladding, ridge covers, flashings, gutters, downpipes, insulation, sealants and fastener installation.
  • Check proper sheet overlap, screw spacing, stitching, sealing and water-tightness of roofing and cladding work.
  • Inspect site touch-up painting and damaged coating areas. Verify surface preparation, paint application and dry-film thickness wherever required.
  • Inspect site welding activities only when applicable and ensure that approved WPS, qualified welders and required inspection procedures are followed.
  • Raise Requests for Inspection (RFI) and coordinate with the client, consultant, contractor and erection team for inspection and approval.
  • Identify non-conformities and issue or follow up NCRs, observations, corrective actions and preventive actions.
  • Prepare and maintain daily inspection reports, material inspection reports, checklists, bolt-tightening records, alignment reports, paint inspection reports and other quality documents.
  • Maintain proper records of calibrated measuring and inspection instruments used at the site.
  • Prepare and monitor punch-list items and ensure that all quality observations are closed before final handover.
  • Participate in joint inspections with the client or consultant and obtain the necessary inspection approvals.
  • Prepare the final quality dossier and handover documents after completion of the project.
  • Coordinate with the Site Engineer, Project Manager, erection contractor and client representatives to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Ensure that all erection activities are carried out according to approved drawings, project specifications, applicable standards and quality requirements.
