Job summary

Riverbay Corporation in Bronx, NY is seeking a Peace Officer for full-time regular employment. You must qualify for NYC Special Patrolman and Firearm licenses and reside within NYC's five boroughs. The recruitment process limits the first 250 applicants.

Qualifications

• Certifications and Licenses (e.g. EMT, CPR, AED, First Aid) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform duty in uniform as directed by competent authority.
• Patrol assigned areas and monitor activities to ensure that the Community, its members and property is protected.
• Investigate offenses and apprehend suspected violators and/or issue summonses.
• Prepare and/or maintain routine or required reports and records as necessary.
• Gather evidence to assist in successful prosecutions; Respond to routine and emergency situations, events and incidents.
• Coordinate operations with other first responders and emergency services.
• Foster good public relationships and liaise with community groups or individuals.
• Enforce and adhere to NYC/State laws and regulations, and rules stipulated by the governing board in Co-op City.
• Maintain working knowledge of departmental directives and guidelines.
• Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Work Experience and Minimum Requirements:

• Proficiency with Microsoft programs
• Prior law enforcement work experience, a plus
• Must reside within the five (5) Boroughs of NYC
• Must be 21 years of age at time of hire
• Certifications and Licenses (e.g. EMT, CPR, AED, Emergency First Aid), a plus

Testing:

• Drug screening, as permitted by, and consistent with, applicable law.
• NYC PD Special Patrolman Background Investigation
• NYC PD Firearms Background Investigation

Physical Requirements:

Persons performing service in this position classification may routinely exert up to 120 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. This type of work will involve regular walking or standing for extended periods of time. It may involve stooping or bending. Handling and working with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job.
