Job summary

Riverbay Corporation in Bronx, NY is seeking a Peace Officer to perform uniformed duties in a community-focused public safety role. The position is full-time and requires eligibility for NYC Special Patrolman and Firearm licenses, plus a valid driver's license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Perform duty in uniform as directed by competent authority.
• Patrol assigned areas and monitor activities to protect community and property.
• Investigate offenses and apprehend suspects or issue summonses.
• Prepare and maintain routine or required reports and records as necessary.
• Gather evidence to assist in prosecutions; respond to routine and emergency situations, events and incidents.
• Coordinate operations with other first responders and emergency services.
• Foster good public relationships and liaise with community groups or individuals.
• Enforce and adhere to NYS and NYC laws and regulations, and rules stipulated by the governing board in Co-op City.
• Maintain working knowledge of departmental operational directives and guidelines.
• Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Drug screening, as permitted by, and consistent with, applicable law.

Physical Requirements:

Persons performing service in this position classification may routinely exert up to 120 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. This type of work will involve regular walking or standing for extended periods of time. It may involve stooping or bending. Handling and working with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job.
