Circle Academy Urbana is a therapeutic special education school serving students in grades K-12. Our private school is committed to preparing and empowering students for success in school, at home, and in the community.

The PE Teacher will provide adapted physical education for K–12, integrating SEL and mental health strategies. The role offers a sign-on bonus of 7,500 for licensed teachers, relocation assistance up to 2,500, and supports from two in-class aides.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field is required.
  • Previous experience with children in a therapeutic or special education setting is preferred.

Position Overview

This role will empower students with emotional and behavioral challenges to have successful experiences in school, at home, and in the community. The PE Teacher will provide adapted physical education instruction for K–12 students, creating a supportive classroom that integrates Social & Emotional Learning (SEL) and mental health strategies. The PE Teacher will work with small class sizes and collaborate with classroom support staff to ensure the success of each student.

Key Responsibilities for the PE Teacher
  • Design and deliver individualized physical education instruction for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Integrate Social & Emotional Learning (SEL) and mental health strategies into PE lessons.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (required).
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children in a therapeutic or special education setting is preferred.
