Job summary

Superior Rigging & Erecting is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer (PE) to support crane lifts, temporary works, structural steel, heavy transportation, and specialty construction across the Southeast.

This full-time Atlanta-based role offers competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits. You will develop lift plans and calculations, perform structural analyses, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with Operations, PM, Estimating, and Safety to deliver practical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil/structural/mechanical engineering or related field.
• Active PE license.
• Georgia PE license or reciprocity.
• Experience on structural, industrial, construction, manufacturing, infrastructure or consulting projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience reviewing construction documents with field ops.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, RAM, RISA, TEDDS, Bluebeam, or similar software.
• Ability to work in office and active construction environments.
• Ability to travel periodically across the Southeast.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineered lift plans, structural calculations, and solutions.
• Perform structural analysis for temporary works, crane systems, and complex loading conditions.
• Evaluate crane configurations, ground bearing pressures, construction sequencing, and means and methods.
• Conduct project site visits to assess constructability, access, and engineering risks.
• Support critical lifts, structural steel erection, machinery installations, and specialty construction activities.
• Serve as Engineer of Record for engineered lifting and structural support activities when required.
• Partner with Operations, Project Management, Estimating, and Safety to develop practical engineering solutions.
• Establish engineering standards, calculation procedures, and technical best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continued growth of the Engineering & Technical Services function.
