Job summary

Robert and Company in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Structural Engineer, PE to join our team. The role involves delivering design consulting and project management services across municipal, military, corporate, and aviation sectors.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in a consulting environment, is registered as a PE in Georgia (or able to obtain licensure), and can collaborate with architectural, electrical, mechanical, civil teams with occasional overnight travel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of structural engineering experience in a consulting environment.
• ABET-accredited degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Georgia PE licensure or ability to obtain licensure is required.
• Strong background in engineering calculations and communication.

Responsibilities

• Deliver design consulting and project management services.

• Provide independent structural design and detailing for various structures.

Job description

Robert and Company has an opening for a Structural Engineer, PE to join our team located in our Atlanta GA office. We provide complete architectural and engineering (A/E) services for clients in the municipal, military, corporate, and aviation segments. The Structural Engineer will work with Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Fire Protection, Planning and Landscaping CAD teams delivering design consulting and project management services. Position requires some overnight travel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Structural Engineer in a consulting environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Georgia, or the ability to obtain licensure in Georgia, with primary practice being in Structural Engineering (SE Preferred)
• Strong background of engineering calculations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in handling Structural projects independently or with minimum supervision
• Experience in structural design/detailing of structural steel, cast-in-place concrete, masonry and timber buildings/structures
• Experience with IBS, ASCE 7, AISC and ACI codes/standards
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Bentley STAAD Pro and Microsoft Office products

Preferred Qualifications

• Micro Station and DOD Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS)
