Job summary

Thomas & Hutton in Charleston, SC / Savannah, GA seeks a motivated Structural Engineer (PE) to design and inspect a wide range of structures. You will analyze, draft, and supervise construction documents for projects in industrial, commercial, municipal, marine, and residential sectors.

Requirements include a BS in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis), US PE licensure, and experience with Revit and AutoCAD; travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

4+ years of structural design experience.
B.S. Civil Engineering with structural emphasis; US PE licensure required.
Experience with finite element modeling (RISA).
Proficient in Revit; AutoCAD experience preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to travel to other offices as needed.

Responsibilities

Perform structural analysis and design of a variety of structures.
Create construction documents, drawings and specifications.
Perform structural condition assessments and write reports.
Coordinate with other engineers and landscape architects.
Communicate with clients and contractors, providing high-level service.
Ensure designs meet code requirements.
Perform field work and construction observation.
