Job description

Pinnacle Search is partnering with a premier private equity investment firm to identify a Manager, Portfolio Support who will work directly with portfolio company leadership teams to drive value creation across a diverse portfolio of middle-market businesses.

This is a highly visible opportunity to partner with C‑suite executives, lead strategic finance and operational initiatives, and help transform businesses throughout the investment lifecycle. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex business problems, working across functions, and balancing strategic thinking with hands‑on execution.

What You'll Do

As a Manager, Portfolio Support, you'll partner closely with investment professionals and portfolio company leadership to improve performance, accelerate growth, and execute high‑impact initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyze financial performance, forecasts, cash flow, and key business drivers to identify value creation opportunities.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, ROI analyses, and FP&A process improvements across multiple portfolio companies.
  • Lead finance transformation initiatives, including process redesign, systems implementations, and AI‑enabled automation efforts.
  • Manage complex cross‑functional projects spanning finance, operations, technology, and commercial teams.
  • Partner with executive leadership on strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and organizational scaling efforts.
  • Support M&A activities, including integrations, carve‑outs, and finance‑related transaction initiatives.
  • Develop executive‑level presentations and analyses for senior leadership and investment professionals.
  • Build trusted relationships with CFOs, CEOs, and functional leaders while serving as a strategic advisor throughout the investment lifecycle.
What We're Looking For
  • 4 to 8 years of experience in finance transformation, transaction advisory, financial due diligence, strategic finance, or management consulting, ideally gained at a top‑tier or boutique consulting or advisory firm serving private equity‑backed businesses and their executive leadership teams.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities with experience evaluating business performance and investment opportunities.
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, business cases, ROI analyses, or finance process improvements.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Comfortable presenting findings and recommendations to senior executives and cross‑functional leadership teams.
  • Experience working with private equity‑backed businesses, transformation initiatives, or M&A environments is highly desirable.
  • Advanced Excel skills required; experience with Power BI, financial systems, or business intelligence tools is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA, CPA, or other advanced credentials are a plus.
Why This Opportunity?

You'll work alongside experienced private equity professionals while gaining broad exposure to finance, operations, strategy, technology transformation, and executive leadership.

If you enjoy solving challenging business problems, partnering with senior executives, and making a measurable impact across multiple organizations, we'd love to hear from you.
