Position Overview

We are seeking a highly accomplished Managing Director to join a leading Financial Advisory and Business Consulting firm. This individual will play a critical leadership role in driving value creation for Private Equity clients and their portfolio companies.

The Managing Director will be responsible for originating and leading engagements, building trusted relationships with PE sponsors and C‑suite executives, and delivering strategic, operational, and financial advisory solutions that enhance performance and maximize enterprise value.

This is a highly visible, revenue‑generating role requiring a blend of business development, client leadership, and hands‑on execution across complex financial and operational initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Private Equity & Client Relationship Management
  • Serve as a senior trusted advisor to Private Equity sponsors, portfolio company CEOs, and CFOs
  • Build, expand, and maintain deep relationships across PE firms and their portfolio companies
  • Act as the primary point of contact for client engagements, ensuring exceptional delivery and long‑term partnership growth
  • Identify opportunities to support portfolio companies across the investment lifecycle (pre‑deal, post‑acquisition, hold period, and exit)
Business Development & Revenue Growth
  • Originate new business through an established network within the Private Equity ecosystem
  • Drive firm revenue by identifying, scoping, and closing advisory engagements
  • Partner with firm leadership on go‑to‑market strategy, thought leadership, and brand positioning
  • Lead proposal development, pitch presentations, and contract negotiations
Strategic & Operational Advisory
  • Lead high‑impact initiatives focused on value creation, including:
  • Liquidity management and 13‑week cash flow forecasting
  • Working capital optimization and cash acceleration
  • EBITDA enhancement and margin improvement strategies
  • Finance transformation and CFO‑office optimization
  • Advise on complex business challenges including performance improvement, restructuring, and turnaround situations
  • Support M&A activities including due diligence, integration planning, and exit readiness
Engagement Leadership & Execution
  • Oversee multiple concurrent client engagements, ensuring quality, timeliness, and client satisfaction
  • Provide executive‑level oversight on financial modeling, operational initiatives, and transformation programs
  • Lead cross‑functional teams to deliver actionable insights and measurable outcomes
  • Ensure alignment between client objectives and project execution
Leadership & Talent Development
  • Mentor and develop Directors, Vice Presidents, and Associates
  • Foster a high‑performance, collaborative team environment
  • Provide guidance on best practices in financial advisory, consulting delivery, and client management
  • Contribute to recruiting, training, and retention of top consulting talent
Qualifications
Experience
  • 10–15+ years of experience in Private Equity, Investment Banking, Transaction Advisory, Restructuring, or top‑tier Financial Consulting
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with Private Equity firms and portfolio company executives
  • Demonstrated success in originating and leading advisory engagements within PE‑backed environments
  • Experience working closely with CFOs and finance organizations on transformation and value creation initiatives
Technical Expertise
  • Deep expertise in financial modeling, including 13‑week cash flow forecasting and integrated financial models
  • Strong understanding of capital structures, liquidity management, and operational performance improvement
  • Experience with M&A transactions, due diligence, and post‑merger integration
  • Ability to translate complex financial and operational data into strategic insights
Leadership & Interpersonal Skills
