Job summary

LRS Federal LLC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support a VA client on projects in Tuskegee or Montgomery, AL. The role focuses on mechanical and plumbing design oversight, submittal reviews, and field construction management to ensure VA standards and contract requirements are met.

The position requires a PE license and at least six years of design and construction experience, with emphasis on healthcare plumbing systems and HVAC concepts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum of six (6) years of combined, hands-on experience in engineering design and field construction management.
• Specialization in plumbing systems design and healthcare plumbing systems.
• Regulatory mastery of federal, state, and local codes and healthcare facility guidelines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency with technical software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical and plumbing submittals, design documents, and construction execution to VA standards.
• Interpret and apply local, state, and federal codes and healthcare guidelines.
• Track construction progress, update schedules, review RFIs, generate reports, and maintain project records.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison between LRS Federal, VA facility management, contractors, and stakeholders.
