Virginia Beach City Public Schools is seeking a responsible paraprofessional to assist the physical education teacher with instructional activities and reinforce material for students through focused repetition.

The role involves maintaining student behavior, assisting with equipment, and performing light office tasks while ensuring safety and confidentiality in a dynamic school environment.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of physical education practices and classroom management.
• Ability to maintain confidential files and compile simple reports.
• Ability to interact effectively with students, teachers and parents.

Responsibilities

• Assist the PE teacher with instructional activities and specialized tasks.
• Help establish and maintain standards of student behavior.
• Create a learning-conducive environment appropriate for student maturity and interests.
• Alert the teacher to special needs of individual students.
• Provide escort and assistance to children as necessary.
• Maintain individual records for each student.
• Perform office tasks such as photocopying, filing, and answering phones.
