Job summary

Animal Outpatient Specialty Network in Newport Beach, CA, is seeking a Controller to own the close, financial reporting, and internal controls for a rapidly growing multi-site clinical operation. This leader will drive GAAP compliance, coordinate with auditors and lenders, and oversee integrations for acquired clinics.

You will manage a team including an Assistant Controller and an AP Manager, building scalable processes and strong cross-location reporting with FP&A and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA required.
• Experience in a private equity-backed portfolio company with sponsor reporting requirements.
• Experience in a multi-location healthcare/clinical operating environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for a multi-location structure with consolidated financials.
• Lead technical accounting, GAAP compliance, and financial reporting to sponsor and lenders.
• Manage the Big 4 audit end-to-end, including PBC schedules and memos.
• Design, implement and monitor internal controls across a growing clinic network.
• Lead accounting integration for newly acquired clinics (opening balances, purchase accounting, earnouts).
• Develop and coach the Assistant Controller and AP Manager; scale processes for growth.
• Partner with FP&A and clinics operations on standardized reporting across sites.
• Own balance sheet reconciliation integrity, revenue recognition, and inventory/COGS accounting.
• Identify automation opportunities in close, reconciliation, and reporting workflows.
