Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to assist interventional radiology, cardiology and vascular surgery teams in fluoroscopic procedures. The role includes pre-procedural setup, operating radiology equipment, sterile field management and documentation for billing and quality records.

The candidate will train junior staff and may float among UCI Health locations to meet patient care needs, with availability for evenings, nights or weekends as required.

Qualifications

• Float between all UCI Health locations as needed.
• Support the academic nature of the organization engaging in and supporting the teaching role and research.
• Available to work evenings, nights and/or weekends; on-call may be required.
• Minimum 2 years as Radiologic Technologist and 1 year in a Special Procedure Radiology Setting or Cardiac Cath Lab.
• Current BLS certification
• CRT license/certification
• CDHP Radiologic Technologist Fluroscopy permit
• ARRT license/certification
• ACLS certification upon hire

Your Role on the Team

Position Summary

Position assists the interventional radiologist, cardiologist, vascular surgeon, or other physicians as assigned in the performance of minimally invasive and invasive fluoroscopic guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Procedures consist of complex vascular and non-vascular procedures, including cardiovascular, electrophysiology, endovascular, and neurological interventions. The technologist is responsible for pre-procedural set-up, operating various radiology and support equipment, sterile field, scrub, and circulating assistance during the procedure. The technologist is responsible for image archive management and appropriate documentation for the purpose of supply management, billing, and procedural documentation. The technologist assumes responsibility for ancillary tasks/duties associated with the delivery of high-quality, safe, cost-efficient patient care. The technologist assists attending physicians, fellows, clinical nurses, and CVTs with all aspects of the procedure. By the nature of this position, the technologist has access to medications and contract solutions associated with the delivery of direct patient care. He/she participates in the training of less senior radiologic technologists and students. Required to float between all UCI Health locations as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Required to float between all UCI Health locations as needed.
• Must support the academic nature of the organization engaging in and supporting the teaching role and research.
• Must maintain a high level of decorum to maintain the collegial team approach needed to operate in this environment.
• Must be available to work evenings, nights and/or weekends. Must be available for on-call assignments or alternate work schedules
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist and 1 year in a Special Procedure Radiology Setting or Cardiac Cath Lab Setting
• Current BLS certification
• CRT license/certification
• CDHP Radiologic Technologist Fluroscopy permit
• Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment
• ARRT license/certification
• ACLS certification upon hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge and practice of hemodynamic monitoring, pressures wave forms, EKG and radiology imaging
• Experience working in more than one specialized radiology setting (CT, MRI, etc.)
• Experience with electrophysiology procedures
• Experience in a wide array of interventional technology and possible applications as well as current generation fixed fluoroscopic equipment, 3D and virtual CT capabilities, and post processing
• Bilingual Preferred
• Bachelor Degree in Radiation Science
• Advanced ARRT Certification in Cardiac and/ or Vascular Interventional Radiography

Licenses and Certifications

• American Registry of Rad Techs
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support
