Job summary

UCI Health in Irvine seeks an experienced Radiologic Technologist to support interventional radiology and cardiovascular procedures across multiple locations. You will handle pre-procedural setup, operate fluoroscopy equipment, and assist physicians, nurses, and technicians to ensure safe, efficient patient care.

Required are ARRT certification, BLS, ACLS (upon hire), and the ability to float between sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist and 1 year in a Special Procedure Radiology Setting or Cardiac Cath Lab Setting.
• Current BLS certification and CRT license/certification.
• CDHP Radiologic Technologist Fluroscopy permit and ARRT license/certification.
• Ability to float between UCI Health locations and adapt to a changing environment.
• ACLS certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist interventional radiologist, cardiologist, vascular surgeon, or other physicians during minimally invasive and invasive fluoroscopic guided procedures.
• Perform pre-procedural set‑up, operate radiology and support equipment, maintain sterile field and assist during procedures.
• Manage image archive and documentation for supply management, billing, and procedural records.
• Support training of less senior radiologic technologists and students.
• Coordinate with attending physicians, fellows, clinical nurses, and CVTs to ensure high-quality patient care.

Your Role on the Team

Position Summary

Position assists the interventional radiologist, cardiologist, vascular surgeon, or other physicians as assigned in the performance of minimally invasive and invasive fluoroscopic guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Procedures consist of complex vascular and non-vascular procedures, including cardiovascular, electrophysiology, endovascular, and neurological interventions. The technologist is responsible for pre-procedural set-up, operating various radiology and support equipment, sterile field, scrub, and circulating assistance during the procedure. The technologist is responsible for image archive management and appropriate documentation for the purpose of supply management, billing, and procedural documentation. The technologist assumes responsibility for ancillary tasks/duties associated with the delivery of high‑quality, safe, cost‑efficient patient care. The technologist assists attending physicians, fellows, clinical nurses, and CVTs with all aspects of the procedure. By the nature of this position, the technologist has access to medications and contract solutions associated with the delivery of direct patient care. He/she participates in the training of less senior radiologic technologists and students. Required to float between all UCI Health locations as needed.

• Must maintain a high level of decorum to maintain the collegial team approach needed to operate in this environment.
• Must be available to work evenings, nights and/or weekends. Must be available for on‑call assignments or alternate work schedules
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist and 1 year in a Special Procedure Radiology Setting or Cardiac Cath Lab Setting
• Current BLS certification
• CRT license/certification

• Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment
• ARRT license/certification
• ACLS certification upon hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge and practice of hemodynamic monitoring, pressures wave forms, EKG and radiology imaging
• Experience working in more than one specialized radiology setting (CT, MRI, etc.)
• Experience with electrophysiology procedures
• Experience in a wide array of interventional technology and possible applications as well as current generation fixed fluoroscopic equipment, 3D and virtual CT capabilities, and post processing
• Bilingual Preferred
• Bachelor Degree in Radiation Science
• Advanced ARRT Certification in Cardiac and/ or Vascular Interventional Radiography
