Job summary

The ideal candidate holds a radiologic technologist degree, ARRT, CA CRT, and CA fluoroscopy licenses, with ACLS/BLS certifications and at least one year of acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited radiologic technologist school.
• Current ARRT license, California CRT license, and California fluoroscopy license.
• Current American Heart Association ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Crisis intervention certification within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of one year of acute care experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Ability to fulfill essential job functions and customer service skills.
• Ability to maintain a work pace suitable for workload demands.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships across the health system.

Responsibilities

Your Role on the Team

Position Summary

The Cardiovascular Technologist (Special Procedures Tech) performs technical duties during diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures, ensuring patient safety with respect to radiation exposure and overall procedural support. The role rotates between scrub and monitor duties and includes a 30‑minute on‑call response requirement.

Department Procedures (Examples)

• Coronary angiogram/angioplasty
• Peripheral angiogram/angioplasty
• Neuro interventional angiogram/angioplasty
• Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) and thoracic vessel repair
• Neuro coronary peripheral pulmonary thrombectomy
• Central/port placement and removal
• Electrophysiology procedures including ablation
• Cardiac rhythm management (CRM) procedures
• Transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE)
• Cardioversion

Required Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited radiologic technologist school
• Current ARRT license, California CRT license, and California fluoroscopy license
• Current American Heart Association ACLS and BLS certifications
• Non‑violent crisis intervention certification within 30 days of hire
• Minimum of one year of acute care experience
• Full command of the English language (verbal and written)
• Ability to fulfill essential job functions and demonstrate customer service skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to maintain a work pace suitable for workload demands
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the health system

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in cardiac catheterization laboratory, interventional radiology, or special procedures; diagnostic experience may be considered
• Knowledge of university and medical center policies, procedures, and forms
