Job summary

UCI Health is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to support anesthesiology teams with monitoring placements, intubations, and rapid response in a high-paced operating room environment.

You will maintain anesthesia supplies, stock equipment, and coordinate with OR management and biomedical engineering to ensure all devices are calibrated, up-to-date, and clean for patient safety and optimal care.

Qualifications

• Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
• Required to float to all locations of UCI Health as needed.
• Demonstrated experience in a Level I Trauma Center or fast-paced OR environment.
• Basic mathematical skills for quick calculations.
• Ability to rotate shifts, take call and work weekends.
• Ability to speak, read, and follow directions in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist anesthesiologists with placement of patient monitoring lines and difficult intubations.
• Maintain, order, and stock anesthesia supplies and equipment.
• Provide first-line equipment maintenance, calibrations, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with Anesthesia, OR Manager, and Biomedical Engineering to ensure equipment is within expiration dates, well maintained, and clean.

Your Role on the Team
Position Summary
The Anesthesia Tech assists the anesthesiologists with the placement of patient monitoring lines and difficult intubations, as well as any other invasive or noninvasive procedures as appropriate. Responsible for maintaining, ordering, and stocking anesthesia supplies and equipment providing first line equipment maintenance, calibrations, and troubleshooting. Works closely with Anesthesia, the OR Manager, and Biomedical engineering to ensure that all equipment and supplies are within the required expiration dates, available, well maintained and clean.

• Demonstrated experience working in a Level I Trauma Center or a fast paced OR environment
• Basic mathematical skills to quickly and accurately add, subtract, divide, and multiply whole numbers and decimals manually or using a calculator
• Availability to rotate shifts, take call and work weekends
• Ability to speak, read and follow directions in English
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Possession of Anesthesia Technician Certification
• Knowledge of medical computer software systems
