Job summary

Medical City McKinney is seeking a Progressive Care Registered Nurse (PCU Stepdown RN) to join our team in McKinney, TX. The RN coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care, collaborating with physicians to support pre-operative and post-operative needs.

This full-time day-shift role includes rotating weekends and offers a comprehensive benefits package. The hospital emphasizes safety, patient outcomes, and career growth within a nationally recognized network.

Qualifications

• BLS/ACLS or basic life support certification within 30 days of start date
• TX RN license or eligibility required
• Associate or Bachelor degree in nursing to be completed within 2 years of start date
• 1+ years of acute PCU experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, noting changes in status
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor responses
• Document nursing care in the medical record promptly and accurately
• Collaborate with providers to deliver pre-operative and post-operative care and ensure patient safety

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What You Will Do In This Role

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

What Qualifications You Will Need

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• TX (RN) Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date
• 1+ years of acute PCU experience
