Job summary

First Choice Nurses is hiring PCU RNs for per diem hospital shifts across Hampton Roads, Virginia. You can pick shifts at times that work for you, with competitive per diem pay and flexible scheduling. Daily and weekly pay options are available, making it easy to build your own flexible schedule.

Requirements include Virginia RN license, 2 years of PCU experience, and current AHA BLS/ACLS. Vaccination or exemptions may be required by facilities, with additional credentials possibly needed

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Current AHA ACLS certification.
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.
• Additional credentials may be required based on facility assignment.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions.
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status.
• Administering medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments.
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Following facility infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans.
• Adapting professionally to different hospital units and environments.
