Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking an experienced PCU Registered Nurse for per diem hospital opportunities in the Hampton Roads area. You can pick up shifts day or night and control your schedule while earning competitive per diem pay.

Responsibilities include safe nursing care, patient monitoring, medication administration, and collaboration with care teams. Active VA RN license and 2 years PCU experience are required, along with BLS/ACLS and recent TB testing; COVID-19 vaccination or

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN License.
• Minimum 2 years of PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current BLS - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other equipment for PCU patients.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Follow hospital policies and infection-control standards.
