First Choice Nurses is seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital shifts throughout Hampton Roads, Virginia. Shifts available are 7a-7p and 7p-7a, offering flexible scheduling and the option to pick up as few as one shift per month.

Per diem pay is competitive, with daily and weekly pay options. This locally owned staffing team supports nurses with responsive scheduling and hospital-based opportunities. Your schedule is yours to shape.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Current AHA ACLS certification.
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.
• Additional credentials may be required based on facility assignment.

Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and patient status changes.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records.
• Follow infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educate patients and families regarding care and discharge plans.
• Adapt professionally to different hospital units and environments.
