Job summary

Alpha Home Health and Hospice in Lee's Summit, MO seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for a Progressive Care Unit. You will provide complex, evidence-based care to high-acuity patients transitioning from ICU or at risk of deterioration.

You will assess, monitor, and titrate IV meds, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and educate patients and families. Strong critical care skills and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure and strong clinical judgment.
• Experience in progressive/critical care, including cardiac and post-surgical patients.
• Ability to manage high-acuity patients in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent assessment, monitoring, and medication management skills.
• Strong collaboration and communication with patients, families, and the care team.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing reassessments.
• Monitor patients using telemetry and recognize changes requiring escalation.
• Titrate and manage IV medications as ordered, ensuring safe administration.
• Coordinate care across an interdisciplinary team to support smooth transitions.
• Provide patient and family education tailored to clinical needs.
• Deliver care consistent with evidence-based practice and unit standards.
