Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital shifts across Virginia. Choose your own schedule, pick up as few as one shift per month, and enjoy daily or weekly pay options with responsive local support.

Shifts are typically 7a-7p or 7p-7a, with competitive per diem pay and the flexibility to build a fuller schedule. Active Virginia RN license, BLS/ACLS, and vaccinations or exemptions are required.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license or compact license if applicable.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• American Heart Association BLS current.
• American Heart Association ACLS current.
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test completed within past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions.
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status.
• Administering medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments.
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Adhering to infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans.
• Adapting to different hospital units and environments.
