Job summary

AdventHealth in Port Charlotte, FL seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to join our acute care team. You will perform comprehensive assessments, develop and revise individualized care plans, administer medications, and educate patients and families while coordinating with the medical staff to ensure safe, effective care.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate Degree in Nursing with RN license and BLS certification.

Qualifications

RN license required (Florida)
1+ acute care hospital experience preferred
English fluency in reading, speaking, and writing
BLS certification required
Ability to work as a team member in a unit
Strong clinical assessment and care planning skills

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments across physiological, psychological, developmental, and lifestyle factors.
Develop and implement individualized care plans and revise as needed.
Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and protocol.
Educate patients and families about conditions and self-care strategies.
Coordinate with medical staff to optimize patient care and communication.
Maintain accurate documentation in the medical record.
Ensure infection control and safety standards are followed.
Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and families.
Supervise and delegate care to team members as appropriate.
