Job summary

First Choice Nurses is seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital opportunities across the Hampton Roads area in Virginia. Pick up shifts or build a fuller schedule with day or night options, including daily and weekly pay, in leading acute care settings.

Per diem flexibility lets you control your schedule while delivering high-quality care to PCU patients in varied hospital environments. Join a locally owned staffing team with 15+ years of community service.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA).
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other specialized equipment for PCU patients.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education.
